Why have it removed?
Warts are small common skin growths which result from the human papilloma virus (HPV). They are generally harmless and can appear anywhere on the body, but they are commonly seen in areas such as the hands, feet, and face. They often feel like rough bumps, and may range in size, colour and appearance. Although they are mostly harmless, warts and other skin growth like skin tags, many individuals prefer to have them removed due to the cosmetically unattractive appearance and effect on confidence.

Common warts are slightly raised, skin-coloured bumps which develop most often on the hands and knees but can affect any part of the body from 1mm to 10mm in size. They are pink or flesh-coloured and have a rough texture that are usually hard, round, and stand above the surrounding skin surface.
Flat warts are yellow, and often found on the face; neck; legs; or back of the hands. They are characterised by their flat, smooth look that is slightly raised. These usually appear as single warts or small clusters.
Also known as verrucas, plantar warts are skin or yellow in colour with tiny black dots in the middle. They may be large or small, and they often hurt if you have them while standing. Plantar warts may appear as a single skin lesions and sometimes can cluster together, forming what is known as mosaic warts.
Another common sexually transmitted infection (STI) in England is genital warts, which are caused by various strains of human papillomavirus (HPV). You should know that not all genital warts can be treated like ordinary ones. If you believe you have genital warts, one should visit your provider and seek treatment instead of using over-the-counter remedies.

These There are various ways of getting rid of a warts and skin tag effectively:
Laser Removal: The use of a laser to cut the wart off by removing its tiny blood vessels supply, thus causing it to fall off. It also kills the HPV virus responsible for the wart to develop.
Surgical Excision Removal: In some cases, a doctor can remove the wart by cutting or shaving it off with a scalpel. This is an exact manner in which you can remove the wart completely.
Cryotherapy: Cryotherapy involves freezing the wart with liquid nitrogen to destroy the affected skin cells. The liquid nitrogen is applied on the wart using a needle that will burn the wart. This causes a blister to form under the wart, causing it to fall off.
Electrosurgery: The wart is cut and then removed using an electric current in this method. It is a method used mostly with larger warts that did not respond as well to other wart removal treatment options like chemical treatments using salicylic acid.
The majority of wart treatments require less than 1 hour to get one treatment to complete.
Wart removal is very effective, and it is rare for a wart to grow back in the same place after having it professionally treated. But if the virus is still hanging around, more warts may spring up in other spots.
Most patients can return to work immediately after having a wart removed, however warts on the face and visible other places like your forehead or chin could mean needing to take time off. Then they may need as long as five days off.
Regardless of the method used, wart removal will cause discomfort. Laser and cryotherapy are described as similar to the brief sting of a wasp; but, because they essentially burn the wart away, some people find them more painful. Although local anaesthetic can help with discomfort.

To prepare for wart removal:

A scab will form that may last a few days for complete healing. Keep off from the sun or too many strenuous activities.
Excision wart removal
It may take a few days to heal, and if stitches are needed, they’ll be removed in about 1 week. You must keep the area clean and dry to heal faster.
Cryotherapy
The wart will blister initially and should fall off in 1 to 2 weeks. A little bit of redness, or a light swelling is normal and should go away soon.
Electrosurgery
After the treatment is given, you could possibly see a little swelling, or a scab. The wart should return to a normal skin colour, with healing taking 1-2 weeks depending on the size of the original wart and where it was located.
