We do aesthetics better
Experience mole mapping with our leading cosmetic clinic in London for advanced skin cancer detection.
Our expert cosmetic professionals carefully monitor your moles so you can stay healthy and catch skin issues early on.
Our mole mapping is accurate, protects your skin by detecting problems early, and helps safeguard your health.
What does it do?
Mole mapping, also known as total body photography, involves a thorough exam of your skin that documents moles over time, designed to catch changes early. Using high-resolution images and expert diagrams, it looks for atypical or dysplastic nevi – the unusual and suspicious moles that may require attention. That allows skin issues, such as melanoma, to be detected before they develop. Mole mapping is a really simple way to keep on top of your skin health and can provide peace of mind that nothing’s been missed.
Several benefits include:
The ABCDE mole assessment can be used to assess potential signs of skin cancer, especially melanoma. Here’s what it stands for:
A: Asymmetry — One half of the mole appears different from the other half.
B: Border — The border is uneven.
C: Color – The mole is of varied colors, such as different shades of brown or black.
D: Diameter — It’s bigger than 6mm, about the size of a pencil eraser.
E: Evolving – The mole changes in size, shape or color over time.

It captures clear digital images of your moles with a specialized high resolution camera. These are kept in a computer system. The system tries to find any changes within your moles over time, comparing recent pictures with older ones. This makes it easy for doctors to identify early signs of problems — including skin cancer. It’s a straightforward and effective way to monitor your existing moles and your skin health.
Skin cancer can appear at any age, especially if you’re at higher risk. Your risk of skin cancer grows as you age. That is why it can be a good idea to start checking your moles and skin regularly, particularly if you are in your 50s or older. And getting checked early helps catch any changes and keep your skin healthy.
A particular mole mapping session typically lasts between 30 and 60 minutes, again depending on how many moles there are to check. It takes only a few minutes, requires no needles and is an important tool in monitoring changes in your skin.
If you have many moles, or higher chance of skin cancer, it’s good idea that every 6 months you have a mole map. Regular checkups detect changes early, keeping your skin healthy.
Mole mapping is painless and totally non invasive. It’s a fast procedure where your moles are photographed. You may feel some pressure, but it’s not painful.

The cost of mole mapping is £495 at Harley Street Skin Clinic. It’s done by some of London’s finest specialists with high-grade gear. And this safe, non-invasive procedure helps you detect your moles and get, dare we say, ahead of the game. It’s a comprehensive check for your peace of mind. Book your mole mapping appointment now!
It monitors your moles over time for anything concerning.
With clear records, comparisons are simple for future check-ups.
When the results are accurate, this helps the doctors quickly see the pattern and take the correct decision.
Because mole mapping is a simple, non-invasive procedure, there’s no need for recovery time. You’ll be able to return to most normal activities right away. If any moles are removed during the check, the area may heal in a few days. Your doctor will advise you on how to care for the area.
Mole mapping is particularly useful for individuals with a family history of skin cancer, multiple moles, or significant sun exposure. Fair skinned people also have an increased risk of skin issues and should be checked on a regular basis. But mole mapping is beneficial for anyone, as it provides a comprehensive check of your skin.
Regardless of mole mapping, it is important to have your moles checked annually by a health care provider during a full body exam and to perform self skin exams.
There are some limitations to mole mapping. It does not pick up skin lesions on hard-to-see places like the scalp or genitals. It’s also possible that false positives or negatives may result, which would impact the outcomes.
Melanoma skin cancer that grow quickly could go undetected until the next session, and other skin cancers, such as pink or scaly varieties, may not appear clearly in the images.
