What are Lipogems?

Fat transfer

Adipose therapy

What is the purpose of Lipogems?

Similar to liposuction, fat transfer and dermal filler, Lipogems or adipose therapy combines the best of all three. This regenerative medicine is a new injectable cosmetic therapy that fills in fine lines and wrinkles, particularly in thinner or more delicate areas such as the face and neck.

The procedure stimulates your own adipose tissue to regenerate itself, causing skin regeneration and collagen rebirth. It also improves blood flow and accelerates repair of tissues, which ultimately leads to an improvement in both volume and the quality of the skin.

They are well-suited to filling small, superficial spaces in order to avoid creating a more cosmetically acceptable, natural appearance. It is useful in areas like tear troughs, nasolabial folds, smoker's lines, lips, brow, neck and hands.

Lipogem is a newer way of enriching the face and body in areas that are efficient for transferring large numbers of healthy stem cells (your own cells). The procedure restores volume, tone and texture with stem cells and growth factors, an excellent alternative.

Several benefits include:

  • Natural results
  • Subtle rejuvenation
  • Improves skin quality
  • Long-lasting effect
  • Minimally invasive procedure

Facilitates the treatment of chronic leg and foot ulcers typical in diabetic patients.

The success is in the healing quality of mesenchymal stem cells.

Orthognathic Surgery

Utilised in cosmetic surgery to correct tissue loss in the face, neck, and chin.

Yields superior results in terms of the shape of heads and quality of skin compared to conventional approaches.

Veterinary Medicine

The first therapy to regenerate damaged or injured tissue in horses and dogs.

The Lipogem Procedure

Understanding the lipogems treatment

How do lipogems work?

Although it might also have a fantastic starting point with the name Lipogems, when the fat is purified in a special way. Basically fat is removed from the stomach, thighs or flanks through a small tube. They then get processed through the Lipogems system which strips away fat clusters and lipid boosting impurities such as oil, blood or cell debris. Ultimately, only the highly concentrated mesenchymal stem cell with growth factors, cytokine proteins and free from red blood cells, adipose tissue debris and large triglycerides are reintroduced back into the patient for optimal results.

Visible results and longevity of lipogems treatment

When will the results be visible?

You will notice the result with just one treatment for a long time. But, as we grow older, additional wrinkles and lines start showing. Although Lipogem does not totally stop and prevent growth factors, it delays them to appear where you actually need them.

Duration of the procedure

How long does the procedure take?

Lipogems are mostly performed under local anaesthesia to minimise pain. This should take approximately 90 minutes, and it's done in a single sitting.

Sources of fats used in the procedure

Where does the fat come from?

The fat comes from the stomach, love handles, or thighs using a numbing shot. The fat amount accumulates to 4-8 tablespoons.

Making lipogems procedure comfortable and pain-free

How painful is lipogem?

The procedure is comfortably and safely performed under local anaesthesia, the harvesting of fat from other areas does not hurt much. The anaesthesia is injected in the skin for 15 minutes to numb it and the rest of the process duration becomes almost painless.

Lipogems Before & Afters

The remarkable difference a Harley Street Skin Clinic treatment can provide

The intelligent Lipogems system makes easy work of fuss-free facial rejuvenation, aiding both visible plumpness and a boost in complexion. This is because fat is grafted, processed by Lipogem technology and finally reinjected in small increments to give the illusion of natural, youthful volume. By working on targeted tissue recovery beneath the surface, our Lipogem system endows our patients with long-lasting, volume exactly where they need it!

Lipogems After
Lipogems Before

Treating your problem areas with Lipogem filler is far longer-lasting than traditional Dermal Filler, adding volume to the face and body indefinitely. If that wasn't enough, Lipogems also has the added benefit of containing precious stem cells and growth factors, meaning overall skin quality is drastically boosted too!

Lipogems After
Lipogems Before

Lipogems does this by drawing fat from the body, before thoroughly cleansing it of impurities and adipose clusters which can lead to visible lumps and bumps. This means that only high-quality, concentrated fat full of rejuvenating proteins and stem cells is deposited back into the body.

Lipogems After
Lipogems Before

Not only is the Lipogems method fabulously rejuvenating, it is also anti-ageing. For visibly improved elasticity, vitality, buoyancy and skin tone - as well as a drastic reduction in lines and wrinkles - Lipogems treatment is truly the only way to go. Why not consider healing the skin from within?

    Who is the ideal candidate?

Our surgeons will establish if you are a candidate for Lipogems during your consultation. We will take your medical history, including your complaints, medications, and any allergies you may have.

It is unlikely you would not be a candidate as your very own fat cells are being used in the treatment.

However, if you have an allergy to any of the anaesthesia products being offered or if you're a preoperative patient with medical conditions that cannot support anaesthesia, Lipogems may not be right for you. Additionally, you cannot have Lipogems if you are breastfeeding or pregnant.

    What are the risks?

    Can a risk be prevented?

Lipogems is a procedure with low pain and high rewards for many patients. Just like any other method of fat removal, it can cause mild inflammation that can lead to bruising, redness, and tenderness. Since Lipogems addresses smaller areas, the quantity of fat removed is minimal, which reduces adverse effects overall.

Bruising, swelling, and temporary numbness are normal in the area being treated. In some rare cases, an infection can occur, but it can be treated with prescribed medication by your doctor.
