Ellanse functions as both a biostimulant and a filler. To simplify, a “biostimulant” is something that begins a response under the skin. Rather than just adding material to the body to “fill” in wrinkles, Ellanses lifting effects also result from an increase in collagen that is caused by placing small Poly-Caprolactone fibres beneath the skin. When injected, these fibres are the seeds of collagen production, holding their shape while they help lift and tighten the skin. Eventually, the body re-absorbs these fibres as they dissolve. The greater the number of microspheres, the more successful the treatment is.

Furthermore, Ellansé can be used to increase volume in places like the hands, feet, neck, and décolette where skin thinning is presenting problems.
