Since 2004, Harley Street Skin has been on speed dial to some of the world’s highest flyers thanks to the expertise of cosmetic tour de force.

What inspired you to pursue a career in medicine?

When I was studying dentistry at university, we focused extensively on the head and neck. I learned about how treatments – such as toxin injections – could change a patient’s smile or facial movements, specifically in relation to dentistry. After graduation, I kept thinking about how we could alter facial movements using toxin, which drew me into aesthetic medicine. Initially, I trained in toxin and filler treatments, but as I learned more about new developments – especially in regeneration and the importance of skin health – I pursued further training. My curiosity ultimately led me to practice very little traditional dentistry and focus almost entirely on aesthetic medicine, which is now my true passion.

Can you share your educational journey? Where did you complete your medical degree and training?

I first studied an engineering degree in biomaterial science in London, knowing I wanted to be in healthcare but not exactly sure where. During my studies, I decided I wanted a more patient-facing role and chose dentistry. I moved to Valencia, Spain, for a five-year dental degree, which was very comprehensive – covering treatments that might be considered specialist in the UK. That introduced me to using aesthetic medicine, like toxin treatments, alongside dentistry.
After returning to the UK, I completed the foundation training program required for dentists, which helped me adjust to UK practice. About two years later, I left the NHS to focus on private practice, where I could do the type of dentistry I enjoyed and continue developing my aesthetic treatments. I began aesthetic training soon after coming back to the UK and have taken numerous courses to refine and expand my skills.

How long have you been practicing medicine?

I graduated in 2017, so this summer marks seven years.

Have you pursued any additional certifications or specialised training beyond your medical degree?

Yes. I’ve completed many aesthetic courses, including a Level 7 qualification. I now teach Level 7 to other healthcare professionals at a training academy, guiding those entering the aesthetics field. I continue to take courses to add new treatments to my portfolio because this profession requires ongoing learning. You’re always refreshing your skills or mastering something new, and I expect that will continue throughout my career.

Can you describe your specific area of expertise within this specialty?

My main interest is in bio-regeneration – treatments that encourage the body to produce more cells or collagen to counteract aging. I also focus on skin health; I invest a lot of time studying what makes skin healthy and how we can enhance procedures with proper skin care.

How do you stay updated with the latest advancements and research in your specialty?

I set aside time each week to read clinical trials and research papers on new treatments, carefully reviewing their results. I also test many of the treatments I offer to ensure they work before recommending them to patients. Conferences, workshops, and annual training sessions are a regular part of my schedule. I plan to continue this routine so I can stay current with key advancements in aesthetic medicine.
