@bernadine.daltrey.81 · 3 days agoThe fact that you slept on your side isn't a problem, you didn't sleep with your nose in the pillow after all. But what about those who can't sleep on their back at all - they'd be tormented within a week, catching naps without proper sleep! As for blowing your nose, it depends on how you did it. If you were careful, it's no problem, but if you really grabbed your nose and blew hard, you'd better consult a doctor. Especially since you have a plaster cast, everything should be fine.

@h.willems.74 · 3 days agoThe recovery period after rhinoplasty is just as important as the operation itself. Whether you adhere to precautions and the surgeon's requirements will determine the shape of your nose that you will appreciate as a result. Any mechanical impact on the post-operative nose can be disastrous: soft tissues are damaged, deformed, and an infection can easily get into the stitches. Restrictions after rhinoplasty: what can't you do, and what can you do? The recovery period after changing the shape of the nose lasts not a week or two: for several months you need to be very careful, observing all the requirements. So, what can't you do after rhinoplasty? We are ready to answer the most common questions from patients. How soon after rhinoplasty do you start breathing through your nose? In the first 24 hours (maximum - 3 days) after the operation, there will be turundas in the nose - special gauze tampons, which are soaked in ointment. Their function is to absorb blood (it may appear in a small amount) and to restrain the sensitive nasal septum from deformation. Note that even a slight tilt of the head during this period can provoke profuse bleeding, so doctors recommend not making sudden movements. How do the nostrils and bridge of the nose recover after rhinoplasty? The main thing to know is that swelling of the nose and face will not allow you to evaluate the final result for several months after the operation. That's why neither the nostrils nor the bridge of the nose will have the desired look immediately after rhinoplasty and removal of the plaster. Their recovery goes without complications if you did not affect the nose (did not squeeze and did not damage) without the doctor's indication (special massages are meant, sometimes prescribed to patients).

@h.willems.74 · 3 days agoHow long after rhinoplasty do you need to sleep on your back? Surgeons recommend sleeping on your back with your head elevated on a pillow for as long as possible. In the first few days, you will protect the plaster from deformation, and in the following weeks, sleeping on your back will prevent excessive swelling on your face. Nevertheless, if sleeping on your back causes significant discomfort, you should adhere to this regime at least during the initial postoperative days. How long can you not wear glasses after rhinoplasty? Even the lightest frame presses on the nose, which can cause deformation of the bridge. For the first couple of months after the operation, give preference to contact lenses. How soon can you shower after rhinoplasty? The postoperative period is not easy, but this is no reason to neglect hygiene. You can shower in the first few days after rhinoplasty. The only thing that is important to remember: do not wet the bandage, and the water should be warm. Avoid hot baths and contrast showers. Can you touch your nose after rhinoplasty? It is strictly forbidden to squeeze or press on the nose after surgery. When washing, the nose area should be rinsed only with warm water and gentle movements. While wearing plaster, the bandage should not be wet. Sometimes a surgeon recommends doing a massage after rhinoplasty, but it should only be performed in the presence of a doctor and only by following all requirements. Can you laugh after rhinoplasty? Laughter, sneezing – natural processes for the body. That's why no one can forbid you to laugh after rhinoplasty, but you should do it as carefully as possible. Doctors recommend sneezing with an open mouth and not squeezing the nose. The same answer to the question "can you blow your nose after rhinoplasty?" — it's undesirable, but in many cases inevitable.

@h.willems.74 · 3 days agoCan one box after rhinoplasty? Boxing is a sport where injuries are inevitable. If a boxer decides to have rhinoplasty, the road back to the ring is closed: surgeons do not recommend boxing again, as any nose injury after surgery (even years later) will take a very long time to heal and could lead to unpleasant consequences. Can you sunbathe after rhinoplasty? Exposure to sunlight can cause hyperpigmentation of the nose, so for 2 months after rhinoplasty, you should refrain from sunbeds and sunbathing. Can you have Radiesse injections after rhinoplasty? Radiesse are filler injections, recommended in the EU after surgery in case of soft tissue deficiency. They are sometimes used in cosmetology as a less effective alternative to surgery. Any injectable drugs should only be administered after being prescribed by your surgeon. Many questions, worries and concerns about the final result of the surgery are natural for every patient. It's important to know that the operation was successful. Only an experienced surgeon can provide such a guarantee!
Medications should only be used under the supervision of a healthcare provider. Do not self-prescribe or adjust your medication dosage without medical guidance.

@njamal · 3 days agoThank you ever so much for the support. They removed the cast today, I really like my nose, although it's very swollen and overall my rehabilitation was quite difficult due to the swelling. The doctor didn't expect such puffiness and swelling, all because the bone was too hard. In general, I was worried for nothing, they even allowed me to sleep on my side now.

@fhissam79 · 3 days agoI had a look online in advance, so to speak, at the "Instructions" - how to follow, what can and can't be done, and off I went. Two months have passed. I don't regret it at all. I was in a cast for 7 days and thank God, without complications. Don't think about the bad and don't listen to anyone. Good luck to you 😆.

@e_andrew · 2 days agoTo clean your nose - rinse with sea water and gently blow, and for the initial period it's best to sleep with your head slightly elevated and on your back. Ladies, take all the recommendations for adhering to the regimen during the rehabilitation period seriously, then there will be fewer disappointments.

@georgiannamousavizadeh · 2 days agoIt's now my 8th day after rhinoplasty, no more bruises, although I looked dreadful, swelling is present and that's normal, it's supposed to be like this. The doctor allowed me to blow my nose when the silicone was removed on the 4th day. I blow my nose when I rinse it with Humer. I hope everything will be fine, the doctor won't advise anything bad😊

@g.stoffel · 14 hours agoInitially, it may be even more important to sleep on your back after the cast is removed, I had surgery for the first time, too, and slept on my side because I can't fall asleep on my back at all, I had a significant shift to the right 😢 I sleep on my right side much, much more often 😢 The surgeon later asked me, did you sleep on your side or not?
