Persistent Acne Despite Treatments: Could Hormones be the Culprit?

Good day, all my life (I'm now 24 years old) I've been troubled by breakouts, especially on my cheeks and chin. After visits to dermatologists, I've used various lotions, ointments, antibiotics like erythromycin and isotretinoin, took antibiotics, underwent UV lamp radiation therapy. The result of all this was zero. Then I started going to a cosmetologist, changed my care to a pharmacy series for problematic skin on her recommendation, completed a course of procedures (once a week): cleanings, peelings, carboxy, microneedling. While I was going, the situation was better, finished the course, a month later it broke out like never before. After this, I changed a bunch of care products, took various vitamins - all useless. Recently learned about systemic retinoids, got fired up with the idea of taking them. Went to a dermatologist with this purpose right away, agreed that first I'll take all the tests. Biochemistry - normal. Helicobacter - negative. Previously tested for demodicosis (subcutaneous mite) - negative. Thyroid ultrasound - normal. Pelvic ultrasound - normal. The only problem was found in hormones: Antibodies to TPO, Thyrotropic hormone, free thyroxine, LH, FSH and testosterone - values in references. But prolactin and 17 OH progesterone exceed. Prolactin 526.70 with a norm of 102-496. 17 OH progesterone 1.54 with a norm of 0.1-0.8. Has anyone had this, what did you do, is this considered a strong deviation, do I need treatment? Is there any point in taking retinoids, or will there be a relapse? My cycle has been stable all my life, there were no delays ever (well, a maximum of 1-4 days, which is normal for me), periods are not painful, I do not complain about anything, hair does not fall out, even on the contrary very good and thick, no excess vegetation on the face is observed. The only thing that bothers me is the endless breakouts.

I'm actually an expert on this topic. Lotions, ointments, cleansers, all of this is temporary and will never cure the problem. And it never really helped me anyway. The problem is inside. 25 years. Doctors treated me with all sorts of nonsense. I calculated my own course and dosage of Roaccutane, and monitored my own condition. 6 months and from 15 spots on my face, now 0. A relapse is most likely if you don't reach your total dosage. I got a bit more even. And food doesn't affect it either. I'm eating whatever I want from fast food now and 0 spots. And it was the same before, whether I eat or diet, it's all the same.

I've never noticed a pattern between food and my breakouts either. Because I can eat and drink anything and everything, and my face situation actually improves, and then it can suddenly breakout out of nowhere. I've already calculated my dosage and spoken to loads of people who've completed the course, or are currently on it, and it scares me that for many, everything comes back after 2 and even 3 courses! It's scary, because there are hormone excesses.

I was reading comments in the group. And doctors prescribe them such a low dosage that they simply don't reach their weight norm. I was shocked by such figures. Of course, if you don't make up for it, there will be a relapse. At 25, I was ready for everything and decided for myself. I also took vitamins and for the liver, purely for prevention.

There's a table there, broken down by months. It's better to do more in less time. It's more efficient that way. My course lasted 6 months. Everything was dynamic. I started with 40, then I had some unpleasant feelings in my liver, so I reduced it to 20 for a couple of weeks, and then I increased it back to 40-60 once everything had passed. It wasn't just me who did this, I consulted with a bunch of people and studied everything thoroughly. And I was still getting spots up until the 5th month, fewer of course, but I could hardly believe it.

There were no flare-ups. It broke out as usual, but less each time. In principle, it can't happen with this medication. As each day goes by, the medication accumulates and works better each day, there's no going back. Flare-ups can occur for any other reasons, just like before taking the medication in principle. The post-acne is also a nightmare, I'll be doing a skin polishing treatment in the autumn.
