Discussing Cosmetic Procedures with Spouse: Experiences and Reactions?

A question for those who use Botox, hyaluronic acid, and the like (in moderation). I had a chat with a friend, he believes that Botox distorts the face (it can, if injected in the wrong place), and hyaluronic acid turns lips into dumplings (correct, if you inject three syringes at once). He is extremely negative towards all such rejuvenating treatments, not knowing the essence of them. He also thinks that if you puncture a lip with hyaluronic acid... the gel will start to leak out (I'm only talking about natural fillers, not polymers). And two questions arose: do you tell your husband that you use Botox and so on? How does he react, if you tell him? Or is it better to keep quiet? 😊 As if I'm just getting younger with age and I have super genetics. Do they kick up a fuss, saying they like everything as it is and wrinkles aren't so bad? Are there any husbands who are calm and maybe even approving of their wife taking care of herself?

You won't be able to hide it, as there will be bruises and injection marks on your face, in some cases the face swells (Fraxel, injections) and turns red (Fraxel). I inject hyaluronic acid and my partner initially (when I just started injecting hyaluronic acid) tried to dissuade me, but if I've decided, - then I've decided! Now he sees the result and the absence of side effects and doesn't say anything anymore.

My husband was against it. He said we'd get divorced. I was taken aback. But I didn't give in to the manipulation, I'm not a slave after all. HOWEVER, I hide it as much as possible (Botox), so there's less nagging. But you can't hide fillers and the like.

He's wary and scared by all sorts of horror stories, but then, when he sees the result - he's pleased. In any case - relying on a bloke's opinion and asking his permission for this procedure - is nonsense. It's as if they asked every time - can I smoke or drink. My body - my business!

Why even bother enlightening blokes about these details? First off, they don't get it, and secondly, they're almost always against it because they're tight with money. And they're tight because they don't get it. In short, no matter how you spin it, they're clueless about these matters.

I'm asking because a friend of mine is a mate of my boyfriend 😊 I might be far from wrinkles, but I do get hyaluronic acid in my lips. Mine are very thin. I'm planning to do it again in the autumn. So, I talked to my boyfriend, he shares the same opinion. I'll have to do it on the sly 😊 If he's satisfied with everything, it doesn't necessarily mean I am, I'm just afraid of a scandal 😊 I didn't talk about my lips, I just asked about female embellishments.

I simply tell my husband that I've been to the beautician for a procedure, he never asks which procedure, if he does ask, I'll say I went for a facial- and that's only if there's a bruise left from the meso. I don't plan on asking for his opinion at all.

You didn't personally name, but I didn't personally accuse you of it either. But post 17 - have another read 😊. It's a shame you think I'm getting flustered, I'm merely chatting, I've been on the forum so long that I don't mix emotions and forum 🀣. We're talking about Botox specifically. This, as far as I know, are paralysing injections? Do you genuinely believe they are 100% risk-free? And the hands of the person doing these injections - they're alive, one miss - and it's curtains for your face. Do be realists at least 🀣.

As for the harmlessness of botox- well yeah, it's bloody brilliant to inject botulinum toxin into the body, couldn't be healthier. πŸ˜‚ And for those who don't want to poison themselves unnecessarily- we should tell them what they're missing out on and sympathise πŸ˜‚

I also believe that men shouldn't know all the details. Girls, can you advise please. Who has had gel injections, how to avoid bruises? The cosmetologist says weak vessels.... maybe you can suggest ways to strengthen them before the procedure, I would be grateful.

I haven't "grown up" to rejuvenating procedures yet, but I've been dreaming of getting a nose job since my youth. And what? My husband won't allow it☹️ He's categorically against it. Says, I'm beautiful as I am and that I want to do it to attract others. He's pathologically jealous... I'm totally obsessed with this. How can I persuade him? Others have nothing to do with it, it's a kind of complex I've had since my youth! Those who've been through this will understand. Especially since my nose isn't hideous, I'm quite satisfied with my profile, but face-on, this awful potato☹️

67,68, you, you're still quite young, you don't know men at all, the average man (by no means poor) he's greedy after all. And where did you get the idea that a woman does all this "for him". And what's so shameful, friends won't "sell out", they're more likely to adopt the experience.
