Breast Implants After Biogel Removal: Safe?

About 4 years ago, like a fool, I embarked on this venture - breast augmentation using biogel. Not so long ago, it started migrating and a lump formed between my breasts. I went to various clinics - some doctors said that you could get rid of the gel and insert implants all in one operation; others said it's better to separate these operations with at least a six-month interval. I chose the latter. A week ago, I removed the gel. Now I don't know if it's safe to get implants after having had the gel? The doctor who removed the gel for me said that it's not dangerous if at least half a year passes and the implant is placed not where the gel was, but in a different place - under the muscle, so that the implant doesn't get contaminated with gel residues. Has anyone been in this situation?

Nowadays, nearly all surgeons implant in this manner: the upper part under the muscle, the lower part under the gland. Of course, you need to wait - let the body recover. However, I do agree that it's virtually impossible to completely remove the gel, it mixes with your own tissues, and in your case, you'd need to almost entirely remove the breast tissue๐Ÿ˜Ÿ.

11, removing gel from the chest and from the legs are different things. I had a lump between my breasts at the upper pole, so when I wore a low-cut top, it was immediately visible. It could have been cut from below, where the breast fold is, but it would have been difficult to get to this lump (it emerged in an awkward place). Therefore, they made a centimetre incision at the very bottom of the lump and removed the gel with a device used for liposuction (fat removal). They inserted this device (something like a tube that sucks in) under the skin and moved it around. After that, I walked around with a drain for another 5 days, a tube was sticking out of me and the remnants were coming out through this tube. All in all, it was some kind of horror, there was practically no pain. But with the legs, as the doctor told me (he gave an example of one girl), it's more complicated, although it's also possible to clean the gel from the legs.

With a pen in hand, I'm not quite the 18-year-old you think I am and I already have kids - two little ones (7 years and 1.8 years), but I'll still refuse implants, I'll love myself as I am. My husband says he loves me very much as it is, and I never intended to bare myself in front of other men, and just to look tempting in the summer and be the star in a swimsuit, it's not worth it to torment myself like this... I'm quite a girl... wow... I get a lot of compliments from men (my face is cute - and at 27 I look 22), what else do I need? ๐Ÿ˜Š ๐Ÿ˜Š ๐Ÿ˜Š... only perhaps more wisdom, although I passed my state exams and got a first-class degree at university (economics) and I work in a bank, but apparently I still lack wisdom in life...

OP, could you please tell me what gel was used in your breasts? What was it called? I recently had a breast enlargement using a gel called Aquafilling. I was told that it doesn't migrate. A friend of mine had it done 3 years ago, so far everything's fine, her breasts are in excellent condition. But having read about your complications here, I got scared. I'm already thinking, maybe I should have it removed now, before any complications start.

Guest1 For now, it's best not to fuss. What if it really does resolve itself? In the future, it's better not to increase in this way. The gel can start to migrate at any time after the operation. Did they inject it under your pectoral muscle or under the gland? If under the muscle, then exclude physical loads in the gym on this area. In fact, not just in the gym.

Another piece of advice for those who still have the gel in place: change it as soon as possible (the gel not only migrates, but also destroys muscles, body tissues). Don't allow physical exertion and pressure on the chest! Don't let your partner lie on your chest! Don't hit yourself and don't fall.

I had the gel removed and at the same time, they fitted implants. It's been 2 years, everything's OK. But the gel behaved normally for me, it didn't migrate, didn't get inflamed, didn't hurt. Good luck to everyone with removing this horror... I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you, girls.

Ladies, can you advise, do severe scars remain after gel removal surgery? Please share your experiences. I'm planning to have the gel removed, I had it inserted 8 years ago. Now there's a terrible asymmetry in my breasts. One is larger than the other and there's a strong thickening on it. I'm really scared to go for the operation. What will happen afterwards? What kind of scars will remain? I'm already 37 years old and not married, I don't meet men because of this, and the years are passing. I want a family.

Dear lady!!! I hasten to reassure you. Fear not, give birth peacefully, nurse your little one as much as you want. Everything will be fine! Both with him and with your breast. Believe me! 12 years ago, I was in the same situation, gave birth and breastfed my son until he was 4 years old. And the milk was tasty, and he grew up healthy and everything was fine with the breasts. Even the shape did not get lost. Don't panic! GOOD LUCK TO YOU!
