I always dread packing for a holiday especially when it comes to finding room in my handbag for all my beauty bits and bobs. It’s bad enough trying to squash in E-tickets, passports and currency let alone my favourite perfume, lippy and eyeliner. If you’re flying, the current rule is that all liquids, which includes creams, sprays and lip-gloss, must be put into a resealable transparent plastic bag, which holds no more than a litre and each container must hold no more than 100ml. Larger items can be packed in a waterproof toiletry holdall and put in a suitcase. Confused? Then why bother at all especially when you can stock up on beauty buys when you arrive at your destination. Whether you’re jetting off to somewhere exotic or having a quick break on the Continent there are some fabulous niche brands around which offer some of the world’s best kept beauty secrets. Some, like Filorga, Kiko and Bioderma you’ll already know about and which you can buy on the high street without leaving the country but remember these brands can often work out cheaper when buying from the country of origin and you’ll get more choice of products. But there are also some lesser-known brands which are creating waves on distant shores. From powerful cellulite masks and cutting edge anti ageing cosmetics here’s my guide to some of the best brands and hero products worth stocking up on. Just don’t bring them all back in your handbag.
