Muscle Relaxing Injections is a revolutionary treatment for people with hyperhidrosis or profuse sweating. Muscle Relaxing Injections is the brand name for a type of Botulinum toxin, a powerful protein that can be used safely in small doses.
To reduce severe sweating, usually about 16-20 injections of botulinum toxin are administered using a very fine needle into the armpits, hands or feet.
The treatment takes about 45 minutes. Botulinum toxin works by blocking the signals from the brain to the sweat glands, this then reduces the amount of sweat that is produced. Treating both armpits costs £499.

The effects can last three to four months and then repeat injections will be needed to maintain the effects. And after several treatments, the effects will begin to last longer and repeat treatments may only be required every six months as a top-up.
The appearance of frown lines and other treated areas will be dramatically improved within three to five days of treatment. The skin will appear smoother and unlined whilst untreated facial muscles work as usual to allow the normal facial expression to be unaffected by the treatment.
Muscle Relaxing Injections and Chronic Migraine
Treat Chronic Migraines
Is there anything Muscle relaxing injections can’t do? Aside from its primary medical and wrinkle-relaxing use, Muscle relaxing injections can also be used to successfully treat chronic Migraines.
WHAT IS MIGRAINE
A migraine is a type of headache where the person often has an intense throbbing headache and additional symptoms such as nausea, vomiting or increased sensitivity to bright light, noise or smell. It is estimated around one in seven people suffers migraine, and two per cent of the population have chronic migraine, experiencing such severe headaches on more than 15 hdays a month forcing them to take time off work, and disrupting family life. The throbbing pain experienced at the front or side of the head, can last anything from a matter of hours up to three days. It gets worse when you move around forcing many sufferers to lie down for the duration of the pain, preferably in a dark room.
HOW Muscle relaxing injections WORK
Muscle relaxing injections have been found to have an effect on the prevention of chronic migraines, their frequency and severity. It does not work, as one would expect, by relaxing muscles around vessels, a key mechanism in the understanding of migraines, but by reducing the pain transmission to the brain. This in turn can support the relaxation of muscle tension. Results of studies have shown that treatment with Botolinus can reduce the migraine frequency, migraine severity, acute medication usage and associated vomiting in up to 65% of sufferers.
The injections of muscle-paralysing botulinum toxin, are given in the scalp, head and neck area. Most patients return directly to work or normal activity immediately following Muscle relaxing injections treatment. Muscle relaxing injections starts to work 3 to 4 days after the procedure and migraines become less frequent and severe. The procedure takes around 30 minutes and is can cause mild discomfort caused by the injections. Results last up to 4 months after which another course of injections is advisable.
Are there any side effects?
You may be slightly red at the injection site for a few hours. Also some neck pain may be experienced but you can take paracetamol. Very rarely some weakness to the neck muscles can be experienced.
How often will I need Muscle relaxing injections treatment?
Your doctor will discuss this with you, but as a rule Muscle relaxing injections wear off after three to six months when you can have another course. The maximum effect can be expected after 12 months.
Will I still need medication?
Hopefully not, or at least not as often, as Muscle relaxing injections are a preventative treatment. As migraine episodes can still occur acute medication can still be taken for them and if you are already taking prophylactic medication please continue taking it and discuss a slow withdrawal with your doctor.
How many injections will I need and where?
You will need around 30 – 40 injections with 5 units of Muscle relaxing injections each. The injections are placed on your forehead, your temples, the back of your head and along side your shoulder muscle (trapezius).
