What is Dermaroller? *

For improving skin tone, texture and complexion *

This treatment is good for improving the appearance of acne scarring, to improve the texture of the skin, increasing the absorption of topically applied skincare, for skin rejuvenation and to reduce stretch marks. It uses a small handheld rolling device called a Dermaroller that is covered with lots of tiny, closely spaced needles. The treatment has two major benefits; collagen production is stimulated and at the same time, a clear channel is provided for topical skincare to be absorbed more effectively through the top layer of skin.

A Dermaroller treatment does create a very minor trauma to the skin which lasts for a short period of time and does not result in any bruising or bleeding in the treated area. By creating a controlled injury below the surface of the skin, these microscopic punctures encourage the body to respond by stimulating the production of collagen and elastin in the treated area. The skin plumps and thickens in response to the stimulus, reducing the appearance of acne scars and fine lines.

How many treatments will you need?

A course of three treatments is recommended, with a session every two weeks, followed by a maintenance session every two to three months for rejuvenation. The skin will probably be a little red for a day or two but this can be hidden with mineral make-up and you can carry on with your activities as usual.

The results?

Scars will appear reduced and the complexion will be much smoother. The appearance of fine lines and wrinkles will be improved too, leaving the skin looking ultimately fresh and rejuvenated – with most people seeing a difference after just one session.
